Position Profile

Management Recruiters of Berkeley has been engaged by a hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area to conduct a search for a Peer Review Coordinator (PRC). With input from Risk Management and Medical Staff Office, the individual who fills this role will be responsible for the facilitation, coordination, and documentation of the facility’s medical staff peer review process. The PRC will provide guidance for medical staff members and, as appropriate, communicate barriers and issues within the peer review process back to the Director of Risk Management and the Director of Medical Staff Office. The PRC will also have the following responsibilities: accurately preparing case summaries after EHR review, preparing Peer Review summaries, and preparing OPPE reports. The PRC shall maintain their clinical knowledge and an understanding of all standards and regulations involving medical staff peer review. The Peer Review Coordinator acts in accordance with HIPAA, California Evidence Code 1157 and the federal Healthcare Quality Act with the goal of ensuring confidentiality for patients and physicians.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred. A valid California RN License and five or more years of experience in an acute hospital in multiple specialty areas. Experience in a role that was self-directed or involved in management. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Experience interacting closely with clinical providers. Computer proficiency in EHR and in use of tools for data management.
